Jennifer Lopez and her bootilicious bod grace a fashion spread in Vogue magazine. Is this the shape of things to come in the fashion industry bible now that it’s dedicated to promoting healthier models? The fashion industry has been under pressure for years to steer clear of too-thin models. But advocates of healthy looking models have had little luck changing designer tastes for ever thinner models. Earlier this week, supermodel Trya Banks, 38, was the latest fashion icon to remark on the unhealthy fashion trend. “Today you are expected to be a size zero. When I started out, I didn’t know such a size even existed,” she said in an open letter to models published in The Daily Beast. Vogue editor Anna Wintour has been slow to join a growing movement among fashion editors to put an end to “thinspirational” photo shoots with rail thin models. But she finally joined 19 other editors at Vogue editions around the world in a pledge to promote healthier looking models. “With Vogue’s new mandates, things, I hope, will now change for the better,” Banks wrote. Lopez, 43, poses in a variety of swimsuits for leading fashion photographer Mario Testino. There’s nothing thin about her. Check out her hot photos.
Negotiating tactic or real threat? That’s what eagle-eyed “American Idol” fans were probably wondering on Tuesday after Jennifer Lopez hinted that she might not be back for a third season. Appearing with co-star Cameron Diaz on “Ellen,” to promote her upcoming movie, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” Lopez said she’s had a blast during two seasons on “Idol,” but her time may be up. “I really do enjoy it,” she said after telling DeGeneres she wasn’t sure what her future on “Idol” might be. “Now this is my second year — I don’t know if I can go for a third year. I miss doing other things. It really does lock you down, which was nice the first year with the babies being three, but now they’re getting more mobile, they’re about to go into school … So I just don’t know.” Lopez joined the show in 2010 for season 10 along with Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler and reportedly makes $12 million a season. And while that’s $2 million more than Christina Aguilera makes on “The Voice,” it is at least $3 million less than new “X Factor” judge Britney Spears will reportedly earn when she makes her debut in the fall. When MTV News reached out to reps for “American Idol,” they had no comment on Lopez’s future with the show. While appearing on “Access Hollywood” on Monday night, Lopez offered some advice to Spears and the other new “Factor” judge, Demi Lovato. “I was like, ‘Live TV! Eek.’ It’s a big thing to take on, but I think they’re both more than capable to handle it,” Lopez said just hours after Spears and Lovato made it official. “Working with the singers and doing your thing and knowing what you’re talking about from experience, and they both have that,” she said of translating her music business expertise into judging advice. And, after a season in which some critics have said she and Tyler have been exceedingly easy on “Idol” contestants, Lopez also counseled that it’s perfectly OK to root for the good guy. “You don’t have to be tough,” she said. “There’s not one way to do that, reality TV, and those competition shows [are] about being yourself. It’s about being your best self, and I think that’s the most important thing.”
Jennifer Lopez may have just been named by Forbes magazine today as the most powerful celebrity, but her reign at American Idol is coming to an end. While J.Lo has publicly said she has yet to make a decision about her future on Idol, sources exclusively tell me that she she’s planning on calling it quits. “She’s just too busy,” one source said. That’s so very true. She’s about to launch a mega concert tour with Enrique Iglesias that kicks off this summer in Latin America and the U.S. She plans to go worldwide in the fall. I’m told Lopez will be on the road, at the very least, through the end of the year. The next round of Idol auditions will begin while she’s overseas. The superstar apparently wants to free up her schedule next year, possibly taking a little hiatus from work to be with her kids. “It is just like any working mom’s dilemma,” Lopez told us at Monday’s premiere of What to Expect When You’re Expecting. “It’s tough. It’s a balancing act. You put them first and then you have all these other things that you have to do, that you have to give your time to as well, and you have to make sure that they’re OK in the process.” Fox declined to comment on Lopez’s future with the show. Meanwhile, a source close to the production tells E! News that “Fox does not want to let her go. They love her.” Lopez has been on Idol for two seasons with one-year contracts for both. Now the question is, will Fox try to change Lopez’s mind with a much bigger payday?
Added some other images to the gallery this evening. I added images from a number of events Jennifer has attended from 2003 to 2008 including 2004 – Jennifer Lopez Announces Her Ultimate Makeover Sweepstakes, 2005 – Olympus Fashion Week Fall 2005 – Sweetface, 2005 – Hot 97′s Full Frontal Hip Hop, 2003 – KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball, 2003 Park City – Project Greenlight Express Party, 2008 – Fashion Group International Presents The 25th Annual Night Of Stars, 2008 – 15th Annual Women In Hollywood Tribute – Arrivals, and more.
Show execs may give AMERICAN IDOL judges JENNIFER LOPEZ, STEVEN TYLER and RANDY JACKSON the old heave-ho! Sources have told The ENQUIRER that FOX and “Idol” producers are considering the stunning move because they believe the judging panel costs too much. And they think they can get three fresh and exciting faces for a lot less money, which would help ease the financial blow they took from giving popular host Ryan Seacrest a $30 million contract! The perennial hit singing talent show has been falling in the ratings, in part due to competition from knockoffs like “The Voice” and “The X Factor.” Now bigwigs are putting out feelers to replace their highly paid stars with people like Nicki Minaj, Pink and Jon Bon Jovi, said an insider. “The current judges simply make too much money, and with the ratings lower than ever, the top execs feel like they may have to make some drastic changes,” revealed a source. “FOX and ‘Idol’ honchos Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe think they may be able to reinvigorate the show with newer, hipper and cheaper talent.” J.Lo, 42, is raking in a whopping $20 million per season while Aerosmith lead singer Tyler, 64, makes at least $10 million…and he wants more! Randy, 55, who’s been with the show since its debut in 2002, pulls in around $8 million. “Jennifer, Steven and Randy have been a wonderful team of judges, but in Hollywood, you’re only as good as your ratings,” noted the insider. “Jennifer and Steven were a refreshing change of pace after badboy Simon Cowell left, but their act is beginning to get old. It may be time to clean house and move on.” Author: missjennifer • Tags: Gossip • Review this post? (0)
