Hi there, I bought a new Speedmaster professional Saturday and the chronograph has not been working correctly. It is stopping at 58 seconds, when I press the start button . When activating the chronograph the seconds hand can skip up to 10 seconds instantly. After that, everything else functions normally. Question, Sometimes I activate the second hand on my speedy, no real reason, I just like it. Someone once commented it's not supposed to go round, unless.Take the movement out. Touch the second hand (gently) with a piece of pegwood. If it moves easily you’ll know. It should be “tight” on the post and not move with a gentle touch.
[Omega Speedmaster Reduced 2] Issues with my new (to me) Omega. Seconds hand misaligned, and both the chrono hands are not pointing straight up when not engaged. I am looking at a new Speedmaster Pro Sapphire Sandwich. My question for those who know concerns the second hand. I like to keep it moving all day, thus activating the stop chronograph. Does this hurt the watch, cause long term damage or make the watch loose time during the day?
The seconds hand jerks of 1sec displacement (i.e. it jumps of 1sec before recovering the initial position) and in the backward direction only when setting the time counter clockwise. No jerk/jump when setting clockwise. Press P2 (4 o'clock) to move/sync seconds hand, forwards only. Press P1. Press P2 to move minute hand forward or P3 (8 o'clock) for backwards. Press P1. Repeated for hour hand as per minute. Push the crown to position 1, the hands will catch up with the digital time.
The only way to do this was to press the top chrono button with crown out which moved the second hand 1/2 a second twice or three times. Then repeat with the crown in. At 15 second the second hand moved for 3 seconds! ! Hi there, I bought a new Speedmaster professional Saturday and the chronograph has not been working correctly. It is stopping at 58 seconds, when I press the start button again, the second hand moves and when I press it again it runs. Thankfully, it's simply an issue of the hand not being placed on the post correctly instead of being something wrong with the mechanism. Because of that it's a really quick fix. Still, if you have to work through Omega to resolve it, I could see it taking months just given their workload and transit, etc. When activating the chronograph the seconds hand can skip up to 10 seconds instantly. After that, everything else functions normally.
I recently purchased a 1969 Speedmaster and had my watchmaker service the movement. Everything seems to be working fine, but I noticed the large second hand (chrono second hand or whatever it is called) does not sweep smoothly. It just seems a little jumpy. Question, Sometimes I activate the second hand on my speedy, no real reason, I just like it. Someone once commented it's not supposed to go round, unless.
